EPV(EPK) braking (81-717, E, Em508, Ezh, Ezh3)
If you hear an air leak it can be EPV(EPK) braking, so you need to restart the ARS system - close EPV(EPK), disable ARS, wait 3-10 seconds, enable ARS, open EPV(EPK)
To prevent an EPV(EPK) braking:
- Open EPV(EPK) ONLY after switching on the ARS.
- If you need to change a reverse: close EPV(EPK), disable ARS, change reverse, enable ARS, open EPV(EPK).
RVTB braking (81-722)
If there's an air leak, then it can be RVTB braking, so you need to switch movement direction to 0, wait until air stops leaking (5-7 secs), then switch direction to way you need.
To prevent RVTB braking:
- If you hear ARS ringing, then confirm as quick as you can, by pressing attention pedal. The ~3 seconds of not confirming ARS causes a RVTB leak.
- If you drive on emergency mode or without ARS and didn't enable "Driving w/o attention pedal", then you need to hold attention pedal, or else RVTB will start braking.
- Note: if it started and you didn't hold pedal, then you just need to start holding it again, so the air must stop leaking.
THERE IS A WAY TO DISABLE RVTB, to do this, you need a dispatcher permission to break seal on this valve, then disable it.
Autostop braking
If you passed prohibiting signal with autostop, the autostop brake engages
81-717, E, Em508, Ezh, Ezh3
- Apply an emergency brake
- Press "Reset Contacts" button below the right or left window, right from the UAVA.
81-720 "Yauza"
- Turn reverser to 0 position
- Wait until air stops leaking (about 5-7 seconds)
- Turn reverser to direction you need
81-722
- Turn movement direction to 0
- Wait until air stops leaking (about 5-7 seconds)
- Turn movement direction to direction you need
Loss of direction signal
It happens if you disable an ARS-ALS system. Without direction signal you can't drive faster than 40km/h.
Just drive to the station and direction signal will back.
Driving without ARS
In the event you need to drive without ARS (for example, the ARS system has stopped working properly) these are the steps for disabling the ARS system.
These instructions presume the train is already set up and able to drive
81-717
- Close EPV(EPK), then disable ARS/ALS.
- Break the seal on RC-1 (ARS disconnect) and enable it.
- For MVM only:
- Break the seal on RC-UOS (Speed Limitation) and disable it.
- Break the seal on KAH Button Cover, the KAH Button must be pressed to drive.
- ARS is now disabled.
- Note: You will need to hold the attention pedal to drive (Unless VAH is enabled)
81-720 "Yauza"
- If you need to switch to ALS mode, where you can see an ALS speedlimit, but you can exceed it, then:
- Break the seal on ALS cover and press the button.
- If you need to turn off both blocks of BARS, then:
- Break the seal on "BARS block" switch and switch to "BARS 1+2" mode (just pressing the (+) on switch, until it stops turning)
- Break the seal on KAH cover and press the button.
- Note: you can drive lower than 20 km/h, to exceed this speed, you need to switch to ALS mode.
81-722
- Disable ARS/ALS
- Break the seal on RC-ARS(ARS disconnect) and enable it.
- ARS is now disabled.
- Note: You will need to hold the antetion pedal to prevent RVTB start leaking (Unless "Driving w/o attention pedal" is enadled).
Ezh
- Close EPK, then disable ARS.
- Break the seal on RC-ARS and enable it.
- Break the seal on UOS (next to battery switch) and switch it.
- Break the seal on TAH and enable it.
- ARS is now disabled.
- Note: You will need to hold the attention pedal to drive.
Ezh3
- Close EPK, then disable ARS/ALS.
- Break the seal on RC-ARS and enable it.
- ARS is now disabled.
- Note: You will need to hold the attention pedal to drive.
